Top 5 Noosa Photograph Locations
In no particular order here are my top 5 photography locations found within the Noosa Shire
1- Lake Weyba
This small lake is located just to the south of Noosa Heads and is renown for the beautiful native tree’s that line it’s shores. Lake Weyba is usually very quiet and has beautiful reflections at sunrise on still mornings. Best part of the lake to look for compositions is along the Western shoreline near the Weyba Downs township.

2- Noosa Main Beach
Located in the hustle and bustle of Noosa Heads, the Main Beach is worth checking out, especially at Sunrise before the crowds.

3- Cootharaba
Cootharaba can be found 25min drive North West of Noosa Heads. This rural locality is quite a broad area, however my favourite spots can be found along Cootharaba Road.
Best time of day to shoot here is at Sunset, although is very nice in the early mornings too.

4- Noosa National Park
While the National Park itself is quite large, there are many photo opportunities to be had along the coastal walk that passes the popular spots of the Boiling Pot, Tea Tree Bay and Granite Bay. If I had to choose just one spot, I would pick Granite Bay, with it’s pandanus lined shoreline, smooth granite rocks and beautiful surf on offer.
Best time of day to shoot here is anytime! Side note, it is one of the few spots on the Sunshine Coast that has clear views to the west, so great for sunset and watching the spring/summer storms roll in.

5- Lake Cootharaba
The largest lake on the Sunshine Coast, Lake Cootharaba can be found approx 25min drive north-west from Noosa. Around the township of Boreen Point you will find a number of photography subjects lining the shore, from old jetties, twisted gnarly tree’s and photogenic little boats.
Best time to photograph here is on still mornings.
