Top 5 Sunshine Coast Photograph Locations

In no particular order here are my top 5 Landscape Photography Locations found within the Sunshine Coast Region. From beautiful Lakes, pristine beach’s and lush green hinterland, the Sunshine Coast has a vast array of different photography spots to choose from.

1- Maleny

Found on the Southern border of the Sunshine Coast, Maleny is a go to location for views of the renown Glasshouse Mountains. While the views get all the attention, there are plenty of hidden gems found throughout this hinterland location.

Best time to go is Sunrise or Sunset for that beautiful golden light.

2- Lake Weyba

This small lake is located just to the south of Noosa Heads and is renown for the beautiful native tree’s that line it’s shores. This location is usually very quiet and has beautiful reflections at sunrise on still mornings.

3- Kenilworth

Roughly a 50 minute drive west of Maroochydore you can expect to be greeted with beautiful countryside, waterfalls and rainforests.

Best time of day to photograph here is at Sunrise.

4- Lake Cootharaba

The largest lake on the Sunshine Coast, Lake Cootharaba can be found approx 25min drive north-west from Noosa. Around the township of Boreen Point you will find a number of photography subjects lining the shore, from old jetties, twisted gnarly tree’s and photogenic little boats.

Best time to photograph here is on still mornings.

5- Coolum Beach

Fast becoming a popular tourist destination due to it’s beautiful beach’s, Coolum Beach is full of seaside photography opportunities. The bays of Coolum in particular are worth a look if you are looking to explore the area.

Best time to photograph here is at Sunrise.
